We worked with Nike to ideate a visual look and feel for releases surrounding SB LIV, leaning heavily into Miami’s unique football culture.
We started to evolve that retro aesthetic by utilizing gestural retro typography and the bold colors of the Miami sunset to create something new while uniquely Miami.
We started by leveraging the vibrant visual language of Miami and 90’s football aesthetics, when Miami football cemented a place for itself on the map.
Inspired by the metallic textures of both the Southern Florida tradition of the turnover chain and the Heisman trophy, we brought chromed out elements into the visual language, starting with a solarization effect on athlete photography.
The chromed out aesthetic translated into the creation of icons using hyperlocal storytelling elements.
